The thyme plant is one of the plants belonging to the oral family, and this plant has been known since ancient times by the Egyptians and Greeks who used it as a medicinal plant used in the treatment of some diseases, and in embalming the dead, and fumigating temples, and the thyme plant is currently spread widely in mountainous regions of the countries of the Sea Basin.
The Mediterranean, like the Levant, is widely used in traditional medicine. The thyme plant is distinguished by its distinctive aromatic and fragrant aroma, and its pungent taste is somewhat bitter, and it is called the mountain joy. Because of its aromatic scent that spreads around it, thyme leaves contain many minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, volatile oils, the most important of which is thymol, and these elements give thyme health and therapeutic benefits.
To prepare: Put the water in a jug over the stove, and leave it to boil. Add thyme, then cover, and leave to boil for several minutes. Remove the jug from the stove, leave it aside for several minutes, then sweeten and filter it, then drink it according to the recipe.
